The Tables of the Law

The Tables of the Law - Thomas Mann, Marion Faber, Stephen Lehmann It's the story of the Exodus, that which has befallen the Israel people after Moses asked the pharaoh to let them go, and when he wouldn't, let Iahve send the 10 plagues on Egypt.

Not much to say about it, really. It's a retelling, and a good one, much more literary and fictional-based than you'll find in the Bible, I'll give it that. I didn't find it particularly racy or witty, didn't seem to mock the legend in itself, rather it laughed at Moses and the burden he had to carry after insisting that the Israel people have to leave Egypt and go to the Promised Land.
